The Sisterhood
Honey, lovingly created by our bees
Did you know that all worker bees, the producers of honey, are female? The Queen is mother to thousands of these sisters whose sole focus in their short lives is to protect and serve their hive, whether a nurse bee or forager or guard bee. The hive mind, this carefully crafted system, is the perfect example of a matriarchy, a network that focuses on the community over the individual.
Inspired by the example of bees and their sacred importance to our planet, we began cultivating our apiary in March 2026. Initially, we were drawn to beekeeping because we make and sell herbally infused honeys and felt that we needed to more strongly connect to and honor the source. But after catching our first swarm at our friend's home, we quickly determined that one hive would soon grow into a few. And then, before we knew it, just three months later, we were a registered apiary farm with the state, with over ten hives. Needless to say, this is a passion of ours and somewhat of a surprise. But when something is divinely guided, you can move into a new direction with ease and a sense of flow. And so, we did.
